Introduction
Anchor Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that begun working on behalf of children and young adults in the United States on May 23, 2002. The foundation is registered as a California nonprofit corporation and is designated as a 501 (c) (3) organization by the IRS.
Anchor's objective is to help our society do a better job reaching and educating at-risk children and young adults --- especially through the arts and cultural access. Because young people are at their greatest danger when out of school, Anchor Education Foundation's job to bring support and build exciting arts-oriented extracurricular programs.
And, since people of all ages learn amazing things through informal and discovery-based educational experiences, Anchor is busy here too.
Our foundation is dedicated to the return of arts education and creative experiences in the classroom, as well as through after-school programs. We are seeking practical ways to integrate experience with the arts across the board in public and private schools.
America has produced a generation of generalist teachers with little training or exposure to arts education. Anchor Education Foundation views this as more than a misfortune; it is a threat to our civilization. We will find and promote community resources for teachers, teachers-in-training as well as students at all levels of education.
Community colleges are of special importance to our organization. Anchor Education Foundation works to bring aid to students attending two-year colleges though scholarships and grants for books and supplies. AEF has an abiding interest in the access of the women and men attending community colleges to the visual arts and cultural programs especially on campus.
Anchor Education Foundation will sponsor special events showcasing the arts. We will foster public performances and exhibitions in areas such as theater, dance, the fine arts, crafts and the visual arts. To support our programs, support our advocacy efforts and scholarships, Anchor Education Foundation will raise funds by some of the most exciting events imaginable --- after all we are into the arts!
You'll be hearing more Anchor Education Foundation's adventures soon in the meantime consider Helen Keller's words that guide us:
